Justice for Trayvon Martin Rally 03/24/2012

As closing arguments are wrapping up for the Trayvon Martin trail, prosecutor, John Guy makes a valid point to the panel.

"Your verdict is not going to bring Trayvon Martin back to life. It's not going to change the past. But it will forever define it."

Recently, in our own City of Baltimore, there have been countless senseless acts of violence against our younger generations from those who have developed a high tolerance of violence, and feed off a silent majority.  As we have seen with the case of Trayvon Martin, the number of rally's across the country, and through social media, when we stand united, we can be heard and action can take place. Let use this same momentum and not remain silent in our own neighborhoods and cities, because what we don't do now will "forever define our people".

A Measure of Success: The Baker Artist Awards exhibit at the Baltimore Museum of Art opens with a celebration and party on Friday, September 7.

As a recipient of the 2012 b-grant earlier this year, I am excited to invite you to come see another portion of my series, BLACK, 2012 at the BALTIMORE MUSEUM OF ART!!!! I will be exhibiting with the 3 grand prize winners and the other 8 b-grant winners.

Celebrate some of the finest art and artists in the Baltimore region with this exhibition opening party for the 2012 winners of the Baker Artist Awards, including the $25,000 Mary Sawyers Baker Prize winners and $1,000 b-grant award winners. See works by these talented visual artists on display together for the first time, enjoy after-hours access to the galleries, and watch lively performances by Mary Sawyers Baker Prize Winner Nathan Bell and b-grant award Winner Smooth Kentucky. What does it all mean

As many of you know right now I am in the process of working on my thesis as my studies at MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art) come to an end. As always my work involves those around me in some type of way, shape or form. So with that said, I am asking you to participate with me once again.

Thinking about the shift/change that has happened in the black community from the Civil Rights Era until now, I would appreciate your input on what it means to YOU to be black in America TODAY. I want your honest opinions and answers, but please remember to be respectful.
